Young People Travelling In Barcelona
Barcelona is teaming with groups of young people, all looking to experience the attractions the city is known to provide. Day and night, they will find the city to have more amenities that they could experience in a lifetime. All pockets and persuasions are catered for, with bars and beaches, sunshine and shopping, you couldn't ask for any more.
As one of the most important cities in Europe, it shouldn't surprise you to learn Barcelona is a hub of activity 24 hours a day. There is always somewhere that has its doors open to tourists. If you are part of a large group, try to base yourself right in the centre of the city. For those that don't mind being at the centre of city life, there isn't anywhere better.
Most of the action during the day can be found around Las Ramblas. These streets are a haven for shoppers and those that want to experience the genuine Spanish culture. If you can't afford to pay top dollar for souvenirs, this will also be a good place for you. Not only will you find something that you wouldn't back home, but it will probably be on offer for a steal.
For the best of European fashion, however, you might have to look a little further afield. All the best brands have their own dedicated stores on the Placa Catalunya, which is always very popular. So, if you've come with a few extra Euros, this is the place you'll want to spend them.
But, you won't want to shop 'til you drop, you'd miss out on all of the other attractions there are. The most popular tourism site is the cathedral, La Sagrada Familia, and there are few visitors that come to the city without spending some time there.
Another must-see is the famous Camp Nou Stadium, home to Barcelona FC. For footie fans, taking a tour here and seeing behind the scenes of one of the world's biggest teams will be enthralling. Even if football isn't your thing, seeing the years of history in the museum will be an enlightening experience.
While there is lots to do during the day, it is at night that Barcelona really comes to life. The Raval neighbourhood is quickly becoming the place to be seen, and is where the bohemian types are found. If you are interested in the alternative scene, this is the place you'll find it.
The trendiest clubs - and therefore people - can be found in El Born. Known to be a hip and contemporary neighbourhood, the restaurants, cafes, bars and nightclubs reflect this. Designer living is very much the order of the day, and if you like spending time among the pretty people, El Born is ideal.
The most rowdy area, however, has to be Las Ramblas. You'll find that just before midnight is when the party really begins. Out of the restaurants spill people on their way to various night spots along the main boulevard. But you don't have t follow them. Take a walk around the streets and you're bound to find somewhere that peaks your interest. Like during the day, Las Ramblas proves to be a great starting off point, from which you can discover the outlying area.
Young groups should have no qualms about basing themselves within the city centre. Throughout both the day and night, your time will be consumed by magical sights and terrific experiences to be had. Whether your group prefers shopping or football, nightclubs or quiet meals, you won't be short of options. And options will be the key to making the most of your once-in-a-lifetime holiday.
