Those who have never visited Mexico are likely going to get a big surprise; especially if you have previously gotten your opinions about country from movies. If you believe that Mexico is all about deserts and extremes of heat then you are going to be surprised; there is plenty of lush vegetation in the country and you may even see some snow. Here are some suggestions about where to go during your visit to this exciting country.

Cancun is now one of the most popular beach resorts in the country with over three million visitors coming each year. Here you will find hotels to suit every budget as well as shopping and plenty of entertainment venues. This is an area where the weather is good all year round. As well as having every kind of water sport imaginable there are also some historical sites worth visiting and beautiful botanical gardens.

Acapulco remains another popular place to visit if you enjoy beach life. As well as the beach you will find that almost the whole city has been dedicated to keeping tourists entertained. Nightlife is a great attraction for people visiting the city and you will find some of the best clubs in Mexico here. You might also go and enjoy looking at the cliff divers or even take a sunset cruise.

Mexico City is the capital of the country and is currently the subject of rave reviews from anyone who visits. The city lies beneath two snow capped volcanoes and is 7,350 feet above sea level. It is a very attractive city with buildings that have a real colonial feel about them. Everywhere you go in the city there seems to be art galleries. The markets scattered around the city offer plenty of shopping and great deals.


Teotihuacan is the place that attracts most tourists who visit the country. If you make the journey you will easily understand why. Here you will find the third largest pyramid in the world and the Pyramid of the Sun has to be seen to be believed. The Street of the Dead is 4 Km long and everywhere you look there are temples and monuments. If you want to get an idea about Mexico's fascinating history then this will be a place you will have to visit.

El Chorrito is a place of pilgrimage that attracts over 50,000 pilgrims each year. It is a small town and many believe that it is possible for people to be healed of different conditions if they visit. The main attraction is a cave where you will find the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe; this can be viewed on a stalagmite in the cave and has been here for over three hundred years. This village is located in a very scenic area, and is certainly worth a visit if you want to see experience some traditional Mexican hospitality.

Mexico has so much to offer the tourist and the above is only a tiny fraction of what is on offer. If you come and visit this lovely country you are sure to want to come again soon.
