Twitter A Fun, Easy Way To Keep In Touch With Your Family
Have you heard about the latest form of marketing your business or website? It is called Twitter. Unlike other social networking websites where you have to login, create a profile, upload photos, post messages, and chat, Twitter is short and simple. All you have to do to get Twitter is apply for an account and you can start sending messages (called tweets) to people.
What is so great about Twitter is that you don't have to spend time logging in each time you want to send a tweet. This interface can be set up on your desktop or even on your phone. This enables you to write any short message and let people know what you are up to. These tweets do have some rules though, but they are nothing too hectic.

"I am just about to leave for my long weekend in the Seychelles!" These information snippets are almost the same as the status messages that you would place on other networking websites.
The main difference with Twitter is that you can get these tweets on your cell phone and send them from there too. All the people on your contacts or friends list will get them. People can also choose to follow a certain Twitter profile if they want to. You can choose to allow them to, or you can block them.
Why would you want to do this? Well, for businesses Twitter has become an excellent marketing tool. You can send tweets about your business (in a non business or sales type way of course). This will ensure that your clients, or data base of followers, are kept up to date. So in a way, the tweets are also kind of like short newsletters, which people prefer over long, boring email ones.
The Twitter phenomenon is catching on in so many forms and in so many countries around the world. Let's face it, in today's busy world, who has time for typing long emails and messages? It is far easier to just send a quick tweet from wherever you are? This is also perfect for keeping in touch with family members and friends.
If you are on a vacation, tweeting your friends and family about what you are doing is great fun and far quicker than postcards! Now, this is not to say that emails and letters are not interesting and fun, but Twitter is creating more efficient communications across the world. You don't have to find a post office in some remote country. You don't need to have internet access or a computer.
You also don't need to have that much of an imagination. One short message sent via your cell phone is all it takes. Your Gran could even do it! With simplicity like this, it is no wonder that Twitter is taking the world by storm.
