The 40 Year Old Excursion

In 40 years since the concept of tourism was brought to the Red Sea shores of Sharm el Sheikh an eventual transformation took place which has seen hotels built and excursions provided, now you can enjoy a world class diving experience along with a superb night out. Of course those two activity don't generally go hand in hand, but they are both popular and both possible in Egypt's one and only Sharm el Sheikh.

Such a rise to fame hasn't been seen in Egypt since the Pharaohs once walked the Earth and ruled the land. The structures built in honour and demand of the countries rulers are now magnificent spectacles of what once was. While the Giza Pyramids took around 25 years each to build which brings countless amounts of tourism to Cairo, the hotels that shot up in the space of a year manage to bring just as many people over to Sharm el Sheikh.

Sharm el Sheikh is one of the top dogs for great diving with waters that are full or colourful tropical fish as well as more lively characters including schools of Barracudas, Sharks and Murray's. Sharm holds its own with the likes the Cayman and Fiji Islands for memorable diving experiences with corals like Ras Mohammed and Tiran. Diving excursions are available for all tourists though more experienced divers will want to take advantage of the diving safari which won't be as crowded as other trips.

After a hard days dive plunging deep into the Red Sea to see the living treasures that are there you can enjoy a fun and lively night out in one of the various clubs on offer. While places like Ibiza have long held the title of summer's party capital, Sharm el Sheikh has also made it mark in that respect also. The world famous club brand Pacha has its own nightclub in the resort and over summer holds and annual Ministry of Sound event especially for the Red Sea region. The next best thing after that is Black House which is another large super club in the resort.

There is a large amount of development that has went into making Sharm el Sheikh a super power in terms of a holiday destination and it certainly seems like it hasn't gone to waste either. After challenging to heavyweights of diving and nightlife who knows what's next for the Egyptian resort, perhaps the world's best ski resort?
