The kingdom of Thailand, earlier known as Siam, is located in south East Asia and is one of the most sought after tourist destinations. Thailand has a tropical climate and the best time to visit is from November to March. Buddhism is the main religion and the King is the supreme authority presiding over a government headed by the Prime Minister and a council of elected ministers. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is an important tourist destination in its own right. It has been called the Venice of the East since it has many canals with water markets and houses, a charming place to shop or gawk. There are numerous tourist spots in Thailand, namely, Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Chang, Koh Samet Krabi, Koh Libong and, Koh Hai. The Tarutao Marine National Park has spellbinding views and a vast range of flora and fauna. The Temple of Wat Arun is a major tourist spot with its unique design and layout. Tourists come from far and wide to see the images of Buddha's life displayed here.

Bangkok is also a shoppers paradise! There are many who come to this city just to shop. There is a veritable glut of shops, malls, and markets where you may shop till you drop.
So, Thailand offers something to everyone be it a holiday to indulge, or a visit to mysterious east or just a shopping jaunt.
