Singapore The Asian Getaway

Singapore has quietly been gaining popularity among local residents as well as foreigners as a tourist hub. Its location in Southeast Asia has given it the upper hand in comparison to its Asian counterparts, especially for those looking to indulge in an affordable weekend getaway, the options are limitless.
No longer does a tourist need to stay within Singapore itself but use it as an entry point to Bangkok, Malaysia and even Indonesia. Many budget carriers operating out of Singapore have opened up the opportunity as well as the options of how and where they would like to spend their weekends.
For shopaholics, the best getaway is a one way ticket to Bangkok. Considered as the Mecca of shoppers the world over, Bangkok sees thousands of tourists daily. However, it does have some amazing attractions as well. Ideally two days should be set a part from a travellers routine to really be able to appreciate the citys major tourist attractions.
If travellers are in a quandary as to what to do next when in Bangkok, then heading down to Sukumvit and strolling through its street market which takes place every night would give tourists an idea of what the city has in store. Theres also a night bazaar at Suan Lum and at the Chatuchak Market.
To experience one of the worlds best beaches and in the short span of a weekend theres only one route and thats a flight from Singapore to Bali. While the very thought of Bali can conjure up images of Balinese dances and beautiful beaches, it also boasts some beautiful temples as well. They are in close proximity to one another and could be explored on foot.
Tourists who are looking for a more up market experience usually find it at Seminyak which is a beach resort, catering to the higher end of the travelers. For the backpacker and the budget travelers the Kuta Beach is firm favourite in terms of destination.

Travelling to Melaka by bus would be a good option for travelers looking to stay within Singapore. The area boasts of some beautiful Chinese temples, Portuguese forts and Dutch architecture which are all reminiscent of Melakas colourful colonial heritage. Among the ruins the AFamosa fortress is a major attraction that no tourist can leave without seeing atleast once.
A leisure weekend can be just as eventful even if its just checking into one of the star class hotels Singapore has to offer. One such as the M Hotel Singapore is equipped with modern amenities and the perfect getaway is only an online reservation away!
