One will definitely have a hard time planning a convention around Chicago. Chicago has a lot of options for you to choose from when it comes to convention centers that's why choosing the most ideal one would be painstaking. This is because your delegates need not travel each day to attend the convention. If this isn't doable, then what you can do is to at least choose a convention center which is close to the hotel.
Choosing a venue that is spacious enough for the convention to take place comfortably for the participants is another essential requirement. Even the best programs, speaker lineups or agenda may not be enough to compensate for the uneasiness of guests who need to restrict their movements in in inadequate space. When worse comes to worst, the success of the convention will be compromised. Hence, it's important to make sure there's ample space that promotes an atmosphere of comfort and cooperation.
The availability of services like meals and snacks is the next thing to consider.
As for rate issues, it is not always goo d to settle for a cheap place unless you're sure that its service has a good reputation. If you want nothing short of perfect during the affair, don't take chances with convention sites that are low-priced yet substandard. You should be able to choose from a number of options and this you can do by allowing yourself enough time to do some research.
