Art Appreciation in Las Vegas

Vegas is starting to emerge as a quiet hub for not only the glitzy performing arts which Vegas is so famous for, but for visual arts as well. This is partly due to the government’s efforts to bring in different artists for commissioned works in their city, so Las Vegas has become an amalgam of artists and galleries mixed with the glitter of the Strip. In typical Las Vegas fashion, one of its museums is at arm’s reach next to the casino and hotels. There’s even a gallery right inside one of its more famous hotels, the Bellagio, which come up interesting exhibitions throughout the year. But if there’s a specific topic you’re interested with, there are specialty museums as well such as the Nevada State Railroad Museum, the old Las Vegas Mormon State Historic Park, the tomb of King Tut and the Atomic Testing Museum. The Las Vegas Art Museum is also open from Tuesday to Saturday and the Las Vegas Natural History museum is open daily. Government-sponsored and private sponsored galleries are starting to sprout all over the metro with City Hall Bridge Gallery, Left of Center Art Gallery, Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery and Neil Leifer Gallery in their belts. A unique presentation is the Aerial Gallery open 24-hours a day which showcases different artists chosen by the Las Vegas Arts Commission. Get a feel of the art and culture in Vegas and you’ll see there REALLY is more to the place than the sound of coins falling in slots.

Taking a tour on Downtown Las Vegas

This is the part of Vegas very few people dare to find out about. Downtown is a mixture of the old and the new with Fremont Street symbolizing the old face of Vegas and the high-rise buildings in the area symbolizing the new. Downtown provides the feel of professional but at the same time intimate business affairs, combining work and play with its business establishments and gaming places all in one area. Although most of its hotels are not as luxurious as the ones found in the Strip, staying in one will provide a unique encounter with the old Vegas, once famous for being part in movies and television series of the 70s and 80s. Downtown is a visual display of neons and brash sounds but this all appeals to the eccentric tastes of people, giving them a glimpse of the Vegas that was. Sights and sounds are the biggest draw to the people here instead of its downtown casino games. A new project is being set up presently by the government of Vegas and will hold several tourist attractions such as restaurants and shops just between Fremont and the Strip. The area is called Neonopolis and will house majority of the expensive entertainment for indoors.

Cheap Accommodations in Las Vegas

Sometimes it’s better to go off the beaten path by staying in affordable hotels which gives one the inkling of how most locals live. Staying in an elegant hotel is nice but may be pointless if one is going to be out for most of the day exploring and taking in the sights of the city. For those staying in Vegas, the Strip is one of the most exciting places to be in and there are many hotels that are found in the area which are not as pricey as the casino hotels. Non-gaming hotels such as Clarion, St. Tropez All Suites, Hyatt Place, Blair House Hotel and Budget Suites still offer a view of the Strip at reasonable prices. Those who’d like a little more quiet which the Strip doesn’t provide sometimes, the downtown area is always a good option with hotels such as Best Western Mainstreet Inn, Thriftlodge and Econo lodge found in the proximity. If you want to save for more important things like seeing a show or taking part in a walking tour, then save up on your hotel stay with several cheap hotels in Las Vegas. There’s the Boulder Dam Hotel and several Holiday Inns sprinkled around the place. Even when you are staying in an expensive and quiet hotel, still consider having a room reserved earlier because Las Vegas has no off season. Again, certain promos tend to come out when the place is gotten earlier. Research online as there are several sites to help you with getting prime rates for that ideal Vegas vacation that won’t necessarily burn the wallet.

The Nightlife Scene in Las Vegas

Vegas pulses red with passion when it comes to its nightlife, transforming from being just a tourist destination to a party scene by night. Vegas has one of the hottest nightlife with varying degrees of torrid to sizzling with some of the most celebrated nightclubs in the US. A VIP Pass is every party animal’s best friend and this can easily be purchased on the Internet. Along with the satisfying feeling of not having to wait in line, the pass will also give privileges like complimentary drinks. Aside from the booth, the VIP Pass will allow the holder free drinks. Barhopping is the only way to experience the best nightclubs in the city in only one night. The most popular clubs today include the posh and expensive XS, as well as the vibrant Tryst, and The Bank at Bellagio, Jet at the Mirage, Body English at Hard Rock Hotel, Pure Nightclub at Caesar’s Palace, LAX and Studio 54 at the MGM Grand. If you’re growing weary of the party vibes, then take a side trip down to the Tao at the Venetian and Lavo at the Palazzo for a little more laidback atmosphere than the others. Ramp up the hottest outfit and bring the rowdiest friends as Las Vegas will surely give you a run for your money!
