Perth


Considered as one of the isolated capitals cities in the world, Perth is situated on the banks of the Swan River. The greatest attractions of Perth are the miles and miles of sandy beaches and over 300 days of sunshine. Perth has a perfect Mediterranean climate where summers are dry and hot while winters are mildly cold and wet. The best seasons to visit Perth are autumn and spring.


Travel to and around Perth

Once you are in Perth, you can use one of the many transport options available. The options are:

Train: You can hop into one of the Indian Pacific trans-continental railway trains to reach Perth from Sydney. Perth has a suburban railway network, which is a good option for travelling in and around Perth.

Car: Perth offers rental cars as well as Taxi services. The two major taxi services in Perth are Swan Taxis and TriColor taxis. If you are renting a car then you should know that the standard speed limit is 50kmph.

Bus: There are plenty of bus services in Perth but those buses operating within the free transit zone, which stretches from Newcastle Street to Kings Park dont require you to buy any tickets.

Flights: The Perth Airport is serviced by both International and domestic airlines. Once you are at the airport, you can avail of taxi services or the shuttle bus to reach the city.


Ship: There are several cruise lines that visit the port of Freemantle. There are also several ferry services that will offer a ride on the Swan River like Transperth. The ferry is the best way to reach South Perth.

Attractions in Perth

One of the newest attractions of Perth is the Wheel of Excellence, which offers a 13-minute Ferris wheel ride. This ride will provide you with breathtaking views of Perth as well as the Swan River. One of the favorite places in Perth for locals as well as tourists is the Perth Zoo. But if you are looking for beaches then head straight to South Perth. Some of the beaches in Perth include Brighton Beach,Scarborough Beach, Cottesloe Beach, Trigg Beach, City Beach, Coogee Beach, Floreat, Leighton Beach, Mindarie, Mullaloo, North Cottesloe, Secret Harbour, Sorrento, Swanbourne, and Yanchep. Out of these, the Swanbourne beach is a nudist beach.

For children and families, the Adventure World is a fun park that offers several types of waterslides, a special kids cove, and picnic spots. If you are looking for something that is tastefully delightful then head for the Swan valley, which is home to vineyards. You can even take a wine tasting tour. If you are in the Swan valley then a visit to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory and Oggies Ice Cream shop is a must!

Some of the other attractions in Perth include the Perth Mint, Kings Park, Burswood Entertainment Complex, Swan Bells Tower, Mundaring Weir, Claisebrook Cove, and Hillarys Boat Harbour.
