Learning To Fly
The high school that I went to was a really good one. It was a lot like college in that we had core classes but we also had electives to fill each semester that we could choose from from each category. One of the electives that we could take was aviation one and two. The first one was more background information but then the second was learning more about the flying experience.
A friend of mine is now getting his pilots license and he said that his high school aviation class is what got him started. He took it because it counted as an elective and he wanted to fill the spot with something other than music and he thought that it might be interesting. It turned out that he loved the class and he decided he wanted to be a pilot.
After those two high school courses he went off to a university where he is right now and took the classes that he needs to have. Some of the classes he was taking required them to go out on plane rides. They charted private jets often to learn more about them and also the commercial airlines too. He said that he wants to be a pilot for a private jet.
I think it is amazing that just one class can inspire someone like that. I think that taking aviation would have just annoyed me because I would think about all of the hard time I have had at the airport. However, although I have spent most of my time in the air on a commercial flight, I have also been on a private jet and I can say that the experience is much better.
Chartering a private jet is exciting and also so much more convenient. You can get right on and off of the plane and you don't have to get to the airport hours early and sit around with strangers and crying kids running around. Also, commercial airlines are making big cutbacks like getting rid of meals and snacks and they are also paying a lot more attention to safety with all of the action that has been going on lately instead of paying attention to customer service. A private jet makes for a higher quality, less stress and more relaxing trip.
