How To Get Around In Barcelona

Once you arrive in Barcelona one of the obstacles you may have is being able to get around town. When you are in your homeland you have your own transportation. Not only are you familiar with where you are going, but you can drive your car, walk, or take the bus. Although you may be unfamiliar with your surroundings, the same transportation is available in Barcelona.

One way to get around Barcelona is by walking. Barcelona is set up in a way that makes it very friendly for walkers. Many stores, shops and public markets are all set up in a way where they are within walking distance of each other.

Bicycle: When you are walking around or cycling, doesn't the experience become more fulfilling? You notice different scents in the air and you can connect more with nature. Often when we are in a car or bus, we don't get the full experience. This is why many people enjoy walking or cycling whilst staying in Barcelona.

Take the Bus: Barcelona has many different bus routes that travel throughout the city of Barcelona. Not only are they convenient, but they are also very inexpensive as well. A one day ticket usually costs under $2. What is nice about the bus is that not only is it very cheap, but many of the buses will allow you to get on and off as many times as you like. Therefore, if you have more then one stop you won't have to worry about paying more money for additional bus fare.

Renting a car: On the other hand if you are staying in Barcelona for at least a week or so, then renting a car could save you some serious money. It all depends on where you need to go and how far it is away from where you are staying. You can check the various rental companies before you arrive in Barcelona and make your car rental reservations online. There are also other websites that offer you discounts for booking with them. You can even compare websites and see which ones have the best prices.

Taxis: If you have somewhere you have to go within a specific period of time then getting a taxi or renting a car would be the best idea. If you are staying just for a few days, getting a taxi could be a better option for you. So that you can get the best price on a taxi, do not be afraid to call before and ask them for their prices. Often taxi rides can cost up to $55 for a 15 minute ride, if you are seen as someone who doesnt know what the rates are.

By taking a few extra minutes and checking information on the internet prior to booking your car rental or taking a taxi could save you some serious money on your trip to Barcelona. The money saved could be used to by souvenirs, eat at some nice restaurants or indulge in many of the treats that Barcelona has to offer.
