Eating in Miami


Whatever mood you are in, eating out in Miami will give you a treat for all your senses and the perfect ambiance, style and type of food. Taking a walk down South Beach's Ocean Drive will take you by many bars, restaurants and cafes serving up something for everyone, with tons of fresh seafood and giant margaritas. In Miami you will find everything from super expensive fine dining for those looking for a luxurious break to fast food for those on Spring Break. A wide variety of cuisines can be experienced here from traditional steak houses to Middle Eastern and Asian fusion dishes and of course there is no shortage of fresh seafood. Some of nicest high end eateries include B. E. D, A Fish Called Avalon and the Prezzo restaurant and martini bar. If you are not looking for lavish fine dining, then a little history and good food can be found at Little Havana, Johnny Rockets or the News Cafe. The famous News Cafe is known as being the place the late Gianni Versace had his last cup of coffee and is open 24 hours a day.

Cultural Influences Miami

Known as the 'Melting Pot' Miami has been influenced by the many groups of people from all over the world who have come to call this home. From arriving at the airport to walking around the city you will find English may sometimes seem more like a second language among the large population of Spanish, Portugese and Creole speakers. Brazilians, Hatians and Cubans are among some of the largest communities that have grown here. The vibrant storefronts of Little Havana will fill your senses with many sights and smells from cigars to Cuban coffee. Of course South Beach is also known for it's large gay and lesbian crowd and is home to Pride and the gay and lesbian film festival. Eating out in Miami will certainly include Latin or Asian inspired cuisine. The Music culture in Miami is varied with many international DJs coming to play here, and you will find electronic dance music, hip hop, reaggaeton and salsa music flowing from the many bars, restaurants and clubs here.

Day Trips


Miami is ideally situated to easily explore much of South Florida's amazing sights, so make the most of your trip and visit some of these 10 spots. Key west hosts some of the best scuba diving in the world, and don't forget to grab a tasty piece of Key Lime pie and stay for an unforgettable sunset. In Everglades national park you can enjoy Florida's natural beauty and take an exhilarating airboat ride. Orlando and the various Disney parks can provide days of fun and entertainment for the whole family. Exploring Fort Lauderdale's beachfront and marina can be done by water taxis, which also provide a guided tour of the local waterfront mansions. In Hollywood you will find the Hard Rock Casino and Resort with many night clubs and all night entertainment. At the Immokalee indian reservation you can see alligator wrestling, relax at the casino and purchase native American souvenirs. Unspoilt golden beaches and fantastic shopping can be found in Naples along with many fine restaurants. An awe inspiring drive to Key Largo will take you to Dolphins Plus where you can swim and interact with dolphins and Sea Lions. For less than $150 you can take a cheap one day cruise including cruising to Grand Bahama Island. If you want to get out on the water you can rent your own boat or charter an expensive yacht to relax, fish or party.

There is so much to do here but adding few of these to your list will make this trip unforgettable. Take a swim in the warm ocean or polish up your tan on the mythical South Beach. Try one of the enormous fish bowl sized margaritas on Ocean Drive. Little Havana is the perfect spot to grab a Cuban Coffee for a quick boost anytime of day. Of course you must take advantage of Miami's incredible nightlife and dance the evening away in one of the fabulous clubs. Wet Willies has been sung about in several hit songs and has a huge variety of frozen cocktails to be tasted. There are plenty of museums to visit including the Vizcaya, Miami Science Museum and Miami Children's Museum. Take advantage of the incredible shopping an pick up a new designer outfit. Helicopter rides are available to give you an air tour of the city. Golden sunrises on the beach will make waking here up a memory you won't want to forget. What better way to remember your trip than buying a new music CD from an upcoming local artist.
