DC Ducks: Tired of open top buses? Why not board an amphibious vehicle and see how the city looks from the road and from the water! The Duck is a converted World War II vehicle, intended for use on land and at sea. Tours in the Duck take around 90 minutes. They begin at Union Station, continue to the National Mall where you'll see all the major monuments and Smithsonian Museums, and wind up in the Potomac before dropping you off on dry land!

Spy City Tours: Espionage fans will be intrigued to learn that the International Spy Museum and Gray Line have teamed up to provide a spy-themed tour of various landmarks around Washington connected with the history of espionage in America, from the World Wars, through the Cold War, up to the present day.

Bike the Sites: Cycling around Washington can be a great way to see the city, especially on a bicycle tour. If you have your own bike, you can take that and just pay for the tour guide, or you can hire one from the tour operator for a very reasonable price. There are a number of different tours available, including tours of the cities monuments, museums, sculptures, bridges and other landmarks.


Old town trolley: One of the several open-top bus tours available, the daytime Old Town Trolley tour passes by over a hundred of the citys most famous 100 landmarks, including the the Smithsonian Museums, Washington National Cathedral, Georgetown and the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial. There are seventeen stops on the route that enable you to get off or re-board any time you want over the course of the day.

American Heritage Tour of Washington, DC: This tour takes you around 25 landmarks on and near the National Mall in Washington DC. You can get passes for one or two days, which allow you to get on and off the frequent buses as many times as you like, so that you can explore the Mall at your leisure.

DC By Foot. If you fancy a less lazy way of seeing the city, why not take a walking tour? Tours are available at 2pm and 6pm every day, and the guides are working purely for tips so you can be guaranteed that they will try to make the tour as exciting and engaging as possible. For a fee, private tours are also available.
