No matter what your interests are there is something for everyone. Barmouth - Gwynedd is just within the south west corner of Snowdonia National Park and is an amazing place to visit.
Barmouth is near the South West corner of Snowdonia National Park with amazing panoramic views. If you love walking then you will love the views of the local scenery from the hilltops. If you have a dog then there are plenty of hotels allowing pets to stay and you can take your dog walking with you.
Barmouth's history dates back a long way, it goes way back to the shipping and slate industries. The old Town is worth visiting, especially if you love quaint cottages with slate roof's. There is also a wonderful harbour with a stunning bridge spanning the river, this is the perfect way to spend a romantic evening stroll. If you love walking then you will love this area of Wales.
There are a number of Caravan parks in the area where you can either stay in a caravan or if you don't mind roughing it a little, stay in a tent. The beach is fantastic in the summertime and is usually full of children playing with their families. Don't worry though, there is many miles of beach so if you want a quieter place then you should be able to find one. Barmouth is perched on the mountain side above the harbour and is perfect for families. Not only does it offer the gorgeous beach, it also offers a wonderful, breathtaking setting.
Barmouth is definitely one of the most beautiful locations within Wales. If you love shopping there are plenty of shops plus there are bars and hotels. If you want to have a bit of fun then there is a funfair from March to October every year.
Barmouth is one of the most picturesque towns along the West coast of North Wales. With so much woodland and fields it is in the most tranquil location and is the ideal holiday setting. Each year the Three Peaks Race starts at Barmouth and ends in Fort William. The Three Peaks Race is ran by some of the top athletes.
Many people enjoy fishing and there is a private fishing lake in the area. There is also the Fairbourne and Barmouth Railway track that was laid by Mr Arthur McDougall in 1895. Barmouth is full to the brim with restaurant's that offer great home-cooked meals, all reasonably priced. The place is also ideal as a retreat if you don't want to bring the family.
