Attractive Koh Samui



Koh Samui is such an attractive place that its beauty is difficult to describe in words. The natural surroundings of the place are so enamoring that it leaves everyone awe struck. Since the attractions of a place greatly determine its popularity and appeal, it has greatly contributed to the growth of Koh Samui. These attractions make the tourists acquainted with the place and help them to know its people and culture better. The monument, temples and museums trace the cultural and geographical roots of the place.

Koh Samui has many attractive sites which depict its culture, lifestyle and religion. The most famous place which is especially built for visitors and tourists is the Big Buddha. Big Buddha is a 15m long statue which is located on the northern part of Koh Samui built in 1972 by local society to give visitors a place to worship. Since Buddhism is the prominent religion in Thailand, it is primarily situated for visitors to worship. Another place to worship is the Swadle shrine which is the central place for reverence and faith located at Lamai.

The famous waterfalls in Koh Samui are Hin lad waterfall which is located two kilometer south of Nathon. Namuang waterfall is yet another waterfall which is located ten kilometer south of Nathon at Ban Thurian. Another famous attraction site is Hin Ta- Hin ya, this place has strangely shaped rocks at south Lamai. Ancient houses made of teakwood are very popular in Koh Samui. The houses are constructed without using nails. These houses are almost 150 years old and have beautiful woodcarvings and designs. The other two popular places worth visiting in Koh Samui are the Butterfly Garden and the Magical Buddha garden which has several statues, gardens and temples.


Thus, Koh Samui is an amalgamation of beauty, serenity and culture. This fact makes the place an ideal place for a pleasurable stay.
