An Introduction To The Dubli Australia System
DubLi Australia started in November, 2009. The U.S. and Europe already had a system in place. DubLi is planning a website accessible to the entire world in March 2010 (including opening an Australia / NZ specific site). So, what is this system? Basically, It's an auction concept that lowers rather than raising prices of new products.
The products are new, brand name items, including everything from cars to vacation packages. The items up for bid are from various retailers, include large retail companies as well such as WalMart.
Mobile phones, flat screen TVs, and video games - just about anything you can imagine can be purchased through the DubLi website. The bidder views the price of an item they are interested in by purchasing credits. At first, the current price of the item cannot be seen, but by using a credit (each one which costs 80 cents), the current price is displayed, and instantly goes down 25 cents (the remaining 55 cents goes to DubLi's business associates who market the DubLi system).
When someone decides to purchase the item, they end up getting it for a discounted price. When the item is purchased, the difference in what the consumer pays and the actual cost of the item is made up in the 25 cents taken out of every 80 cents paid for the viewing. So the consumer gets a bargain and the supplier of the product gets the full price of the item, benefiting both parties.
Where the DubLi Australia system comes in, is that currently, Australian consumers are having to purchase items from the American website, which means American shipping costs etc. However, from March 2010, the Australian site will launch, giving Australian / New Zealanders the chance to purchase from local retailers, at local shipping rates (which will amount to a considerable saving for all involved).
The site adds new items to their auction daily and all that is needed to participate is to register. Once you have registered, you purchase the credits needed to view the items being auctioned (in fact most business associates will give you free credits to get started, so you can see the system in action and see if it's for you or not).
Once you decide to purchase an item, you can pay using your credit card. The site is secure, being highly encrypted to ensure the safety of your information. The item that you purchase will be shipped as soon as payment is received by DubLi.
The concept of Michael Hansen in 2003, the DubLi auction was launched as a test site in 2007 in Germany. After working out all the bugs, it was launched in 28 countries across Europe in 2008. During the first 8 months the site garnered 2.3 million customers.
The success of DubLi is due to the concept of lowering rather than raising prices. Since the price goes down every time someone views the item, the possibility of getting a real bargain is what is increasing this auction site's popularity.
